Health care decision especially in preventive services for individual patients and for public policy should be informed by the best available research evidence. Systematic reviews aim to identigy,evaluate and summarize the findings of all relevant individual studies. Systematic reviews can also demonstrate where knowledge is lacking, This can then be used to guide future research.
Conducting the course into 2 units:
first unit: through discussion, students will learn the key areas to cover in a review protocol: identifying research evidence, study selection, data extraction, quality assessment and data systhesis,etc.
second unit:Undertaking the review:student should complete a systematic review proposal writing after aware of appropiate methods including a specialized topic area, methods relating to use of aggregate study level data.
